Public speaking is well known to create anxiety in nearly all individuals. When evaluating the levels of anxiety or calm, blood pressure and heart rate are often the physiological parameters measured.
This double-blind study was done to determine the effects of various levels of cannabidiol (CBD) on anxiety, as measured via blood pressure and heart rate. While this study determined that too much CBD is as ineffective as too little CBD, it re-affirmed the effect of CBD on blood pressure.
In these healthy male subjects, 300 mg of CBD was found to significantly reduce anxiety, while 150 mg, 600 mg, and placebo did not have the desired effects as measured via blood pressure and heart rate.
CBD is a cannabinoid found in abundance in some strains of cannabis (marijuana).
