Synthetic versions of cannabis (marijuana) have become more popular recently. They are generally manufactured to reproduce the effects of THC, and are available to the consumer via traditional stores and the internet.
While these products are usually purchased by the recreational user, what about using them for the medicinal effects that natural THC offers? That may not be such a good idea.
This article states that synthetic cannabinoids containing THC-like chemicals produce a relatively high incidence of side effects, including acute psychosis, confusion, anxiety, tachycardia, drowsiness, dizziness, agitation, hypertension, seizures, convulsions, vomiting, nausea, high blood pressure and chest pain, acute central nervous system (CNS) and cardiovascular toxicity, and long-term abuse-related effects of dependence and withdrawal.
In contrast, natural marijuana will contain non THC cannabinoids which are generally attributed to creating an “entourage effect”, both enhancing effectiveness and increasing the safety of the natural plant.
For those wishing to use marijuana as a natural medicine, it may be best to use …. natural medical marijuana, which by definition comes from the whole plant itself.
