Why not synthetic marijuana?

With all the interest in medical marijuana (cannabis) today many wonder about using synthetic imitations of natures medicinal plant. To mimic the bliss effects of marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids (some of marijuana’s chemicals) have been sprayed onto plant material and have been shown to attach to the same receptors in the human body as the natural versions.

Sometimes these synthetic versions have been sold under the brand name of “Spice” or “K2”. However, they have been shown to have severe harmful effects in comparison to the natural plant and it’s delta-9-THC component. These include anxiety, short-term memory loss, and attention deficits and can have many other cognitive, affective, and psychomotor effects.

When looking to get the benefit of natural medicine, it may be best to stick with … natural medicine.
